Pine Hill Singers present “A Midwinter Night’s Journey”
The Pine Hill Singers announce their winter choral performances on December 8th and 10th. During these dark and cold midwinter days, the singers will warm your soul with songs and poems of the winter solstice.
Their concert will celebrate the holiday season and the longest night of the year, while anticipating the joy of light’s return. They will perform music both classical and traditional from across continents and centuries – of winter light and snowy landscapes. Highlights include the new “The Great Clear Twilight’ by Austin Schend, “Solstice Song” by Canadian Jan Garrett and “Days of Beauty” by Ola Gjeilo. The traditional and uplifting “Sleigh Ride”, the haunting “In the Bleak Midwinter” and two rousing spirituals will have you leaving in the Christmas spirit.
“A Midwinter Night’s Journey” will be presented at 7:00 pm on Friday, December 8th at Bradford Congregational Church at 145 Main Street, Bradford, VT and at 3:00 pm on Sunday, December 10th at the Sugar Hill Meeting House on Main Street, Sugar Hill, NH. Admission to both concerts is by donation.
The Pine Hill Singers is an all women community chorus that has brought outstanding performances to the local area for more than two decades. Their thematic concerts feature an eclectic variety of music from classical to contemporary, Broadway to pop, and patriotic to global. They sing to inspire, promote musical excellence, and have fun! They are of diverse professions, musical abilities, ages, and life experiences. This close group of women from NH and VT meet weekly to celebrate their common love of creating and sharing music for their community.
